The Banking on the Future Scholarship was created to assist and reward a wide range of life experiences among student applicants. Please read the application carefully and reply completely. Two students from each of the following local high schools will be awarded $1,000: Edward Little, Auburn St. Dom’s, Auburn Lewiston High School Windham High School |
One student from each of the following area high schools will be awarded $1,000: Leavitt Lisbon Monmouth Oak Hill Poland |
- Applicant must be a High School Senior planning to pursue a higher education at a 2- or 4-year college, university or technical school.
- Applicant must have a grade average of 85 or better for 3 years and be in good standing at current high school.
- Applicant must have demonstrated community service experience.
- Applicant must be of good moral character.
- Application (2-page application attached) that describes key accomplishments in: Academic, School Activities, Service to Others/Community Service/Volunteerism, Athletics, Leadership Abilities, Additional accomplishments
- Transcripts from 3 years and first semester of senior year.
- Write a 250 word essay outlining why you believe service to others is important, drawing on your personal involvement in community service organizations and/or your personal experience(s) providing service to individuals – including family members – in need. You may wish to include specific challenges you’ve overcome and how you’ve learned to apply what you’ve gained from the experience.
- At least one personal recommendation from a teacher, coach, guidance counselor, advisor, community service organization or employer.
