McDonald's Opens Interactive PlayPlace®

BROADWAY McDONALD’S® OPENS
MAINE’S FIRST MUSICAL PLAYPLACE®

Last week, the Bangor McDonald’s® located at 632 Broadway opened Maine’s first interactive Musical PlayPlace® designed for children up to the age of 10.

As children move throughout the indoor play area, musical notes sound at specific intervals. In addition, activity stations are designed to teach children about music using large-scale keyboards, tone activated stairs and more.

The remodeled PlayPlace has an open concept design that accommodates easy observation by adults. A special toddler area is specially designed for children ages three and under while children ages 4-10 can enjoy the tall climbing play area that features a curving musical slide. McDonald’s developed the musical PlayPlace as a healthy activity for children that underscores its commitment to a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

“It is heartwarming to watch the children’s eyes light up as they activate musical tones as they play throughout the PlayPlace,” said Owner/Operator Gary Eckmann. “In addition to being educational and interactive, one of the main reasons we decided to install the Musical PlayPlace is that the new design is very safe and allows adults to enter the play area with their children if they choose. Or, if they prefer, they can sit back and enjoy a coffee or a meal while they watch their children play - always in sight.”

The 632 Broadway McDonald’s Musical PlayPlace is open from 8AM to 8PM. The restaurant is open 24 hours daily with drive-thru service.

The Broadway McDonald’s has been locally owned and operated by Gary and Marty Eckmann of Bangor since 1986. In addition, the Eckmann family owns three other McDonald’s restaurants in Bangor located at 1105 Union Street, 665 Hogan Road, and 466 Main Street (soon to be relocated to 427 Main Street), as well as two in Brewer, one in Millinocket and one in Dover-Foxcroft.

The Eckmanns are a part of the Maine McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association, a collaboration of 12 local Maine McDonald’s franchisees.
