McDonald's Grand Opening
|
![]() After serving customers for more than 40 years from 1240 Lisbon Street, McDonald's has moved to a newly constructed restaurant at 1035 Lisbon Street, in the former Shaw's Plaza. The next generation of McDonald's® arrived in Lewiston on December 17th with a ribbon cutting ceremony that featured city officials and check presentations to local organizations. The new McDonald's replaces the restaurant at 1240 Lisbon Street, built in 1966 and the oldest operational McDonald's in Maine. The design of the newly constructed McDonald's, located at 1035 Lisbon Street, reflects McDonald's newest restaurant style, the Forever Young motif, which incorporates a McCafé, bistro seating, and a tandem drive-thru for faster service. With seating for 65, the new McDonald's dining room offers a friendly, affordable and relaxing coffeehouse for everyone to enjoy. Diners can watch the large flat-screen TV and access the internet through wi-fi. The McCafé offers a number of favorite coffee choices, such as cappuccinos, mochas and lattes all produced from freshly roasted espresso. Owner/operators Dave and Jan Hamilton have customized the restaurant's interior design to be reflective of the Lewiston/Auburn area. Large murals featuring Lewiston landmark photography along with family portraits fill the walls of the dining room. "Jan and I are pleased to be a part of the Lewiston/Auburn business community and are excited to welcome guests to our new, modern restaurant," states Owner/Operator Dave Hamilton. "Now that we are closer to the shopping district, holiday shoppers will find this is the perfect spot to stop in for a breakfast, lunch or dinner or to warm up with a hot McCafé beverage." Along with the McCafé beverages and Forever Young restaurant design, McDonald's is continually looking at ways to meet the changing needs and tastes of its customers by offering a variety of new menu choices like Premium Salads, Premium Chicken sandwiches like the new Southern Style Chicken Biscuit at breakfast or Sandwich at lunch/dinner, Snack WrapsTM, Fruit n' Yogurt ParfaitsTM, Apple Dippers and Fruit n' Walnut saladsTM. Grand Opening Give-aways Through January, 2009 In celebration of this grand opening, guests of the Lewiston McDonald's can enter to win one of thirteen give-aways through the end of January. From Dec. 17 to 24, there will be daily drawings for $100 gift cards from local businesses. From Dec. 26 to Jan. 31, there will be weekly drawings for give-aways including $200 in heating oil, $100 in groceries, a video camera, a portable DVD, and the grand prize, a large flat-screen television. Owner/Operators Dave and Jan Hamilton are South Paris residents and currently own McDonald restaurants in Auburn, Lisbon Falls, Topsham, and Lewiston. With a strong sense of community and family, the Hamiltons chose to feature Lewiston landmarks and their children and grandchildren in several of the photographic installations throughout the restaurant. Their new McDonald's restaurant is located at 1035 Lisbon Street in the former Shaw's Plaza. It incorporates the latest features rolling out nationally, including the all-new McCafé ® featuring premium specialty coffees such as mochas, lattes and cappuccinos. The Hamiltons are a part of the Maine McDonald's Owner/Operator Association, a collaboration of 16 local Maine McDonald's franchisees.
